Audiogram Video Templates Explained
Timothy Barnwell
Hey everyone, welcome back to Jellypod Product Updates. I’m Timothy Barnwell, your resident Jellypod superfan—still can’t believe I get to say that out loud. Today, I’m honestly buzzing to talk about something that’s, well, made my podcasting life a whole lot more fun: audiogram video templates and captions. If you’ve ever tried to make your podcast stand out on social media, you know the struggle, right? It’s like, you’ve got this great audio, but how do you make it pop visually? Well, Jellypod’s just dropped a bunch of new video styles, and I’ve been playing with them all week.

So, let’s break down what’s new. First up, there’s now a whole library of audiogram video templates. You can pick from Classic Captions, which is basically your go-to if you want easy-to-read subtitles baked right into the video. Then there’s Spotlight—this one’s a bit more minimalist, puts the focus on the speaker, which I think is brilliant if you want something clean and modern. And, oh, the Karaoke style—this is the one I’m most excited about. It highlights each word as it’s spoken, so it’s like, you know, those old karaoke machines but for your podcast. I tried it on my last Jellypod episode and, honestly, it made me want to sing along with myself. Not that anyone needs to hear that, but you get the idea.

And of course, there’s the Classic Audiogram, which is the waveform-driven look we all know and, well, probably overused by now. But it’s still there if you’re feeling nostalgic or just want to keep things simple. What’s really clever, though, is how you can now choose the format that fits wherever you’re sharing. So, if you’re posting to YouTube, you can go landscape. TikTok? Portrait, obviously. Facebook or Instagram? Square. It’s literally just a click in the Video Settings, and you’re sorted. I always used to mess up the aspect ratio and end up with those weird black bars—so, yeah, this is a lifesaver.

But here’s the bit that I think is actually a game-changer: built-in captions. Instead of making people scroll down to find a transcript or, you know, just guessing what you said when the audio’s a bit dodgy, now listeners can read along right in the video. It’s better for engagement, and honestly, it’s just more accessible. I mean, I’ve got a mate who’s hard of hearing, and he told me he actually started watching more podcast clips because of the captions. That’s, like, real impact.

There’s even this creator I follow—can’t remember their handle, but they switched to using portrait audiograms with built-in captions for TikTok, and their engagement just shot up. I think it was something like double the comments and shares? Don’t quote me on the exact numbers, but it was a big jump. Just goes to show, making your content easier to watch and read really does pay off.

Anyway, if you haven’t tried these new templates yet, give them a go next time you’re editing. Just hit Video Settings in the top right and mess about with the styles. I’m already planning which one to use for my next episode—probably Karaoke again, because, well, I’m a sucker for a bit of fun. That’s it for today’s update. Thanks for listening, and I’ll catch you next time with more Jellypod news and, hopefully, fewer of my singing stories. Cheers!
